Fence Installation

Fence Installation in Hanover, PA

Vinyl, ornamental aluminum and chain link fence installed end to end — layout, utility locates, permits, posts set in concrete and gates hung square.

How we build it

Fence Installation done right

Fence installation is the core of what D2K does, and almost every problem we get called out to repair on somebody else's fence traces back to the same shortcut: posts that were not set deep enough or were backfilled with dirt. We set posts in concrete below the Central Pennsylvania frost line, pull the corners and gate posts first so the line runs true, and let the concrete cure before panels get loaded onto it. That is unglamorous work that you never see, and it is the reason our lines still look straight after a decade of freeze and thaw.

Before anything gets dug we handle the paperwork side. We locate the property line against your survey or pins, call in PA One Call utility locates, pull the township permit when one is required, and help assemble the HOA approval packet — drawings, material spec sheets, colors and setbacks — because that packet is what usually holds a neighborhood project up for weeks. On a jobsite we mark the run with you standing there so there is no argument later about where the fence lands.

Materials are matched to the job rather than to whatever is in the yard. Vinyl privacy for screening a pool or a back yard, vinyl or aluminum picket where you want the view kept open, ornamental aluminum for pool code and sloped ground because it racks with grade, and chain link where you need a durable, budget-friendly boundary for dogs and kids. Gates are built to the opening — walk gates, double gates and drive gates up to sixteen feet — with hardware rated for the span and steel-reinforced gate posts on every opening.

Most residential fences install in one to three days once the material is on site, and we clean up as we go: dirt raked back, concrete spoils removed, and every gate adjusted and latched before we consider the job finished. You can draw your own layout and see an instant estimated price in our online fence designer, or book an in-person estimate and we will measure and quote it in person.

Common questions

Fence Installation FAQ

How long does a fence installation take?
Most residential fences go in over one to three working days once material is on site. Larger runs, heavy grade and drive gates add time, and we give you the realistic window with your quote.
Do I need a permit for a fence?
It depends on your township and, near Hanover, sometimes on your zoning district and fence height. We check for you and pull the permit when one is required.
How deep do you set fence posts?
Below the local frost line and in concrete, with depth adjusted for post height and soil. Shallow posts backfilled with dirt are the single most common reason a fence line starts leaning.
Can I see a price before booking an estimate?
Yes. Our online fence designer lets you draw your layout on your own property and see an instant estimated price with no contact information required.

"Brandon and his crew installed a new deck and fence at our house - a long overdue project! We are thrilled with both. His team is professional, friendly, and they work extremely hard. The bid was right in the ballpark of what we expected, the work was completed in a timely manner, and they were very good about cleaning up the work site when the jobs were finished. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone seeking deck, fencing, and rail services."

"We recently had a vinyl fence and patio installed, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The crew was professional, hardworking, and paid attention to every detail. The fence looks amazing, feels solid, and completely transformed the look of our yard. The patio turned out even better than we imagined — clean, level, and beautifully finished."

"Brandon is fantastic. He did all the leg work and kept us updated prior to and during our project. Brandon got the ball rolling with his crew and got our fence installed as anticipated. We're extremely happy with the turnout, the quality and craftsmanship Brandon and his crew provided. We highly recommend D2K and our pups do too!!"
