How we build it
Automatic Gate Installation done right
An automatic gate starts with the driveway, not the remote. We measure the opening, check slope and clearance, and discuss vehicles, deliveries and pedestrian access. Swing gates need room through their full travel; slide gates need run-back space beside the driveway. Those constraints determine the workable layout before we select an operator.
The operator must suit the gate's size, weight and expected use. Posts and foundations carry different loads from an ordinary fence run and need their own design. We review available power and conduit routes, along with keypad, remote and vehicle-detection options. Backup power and any additional electrical work are identified in the proposal rather than assumed to be included.
Moving gates create entrapment hazards. Safety planning includes the operator manufacturer's requirements and applicable UL 325 and ASTM F2200 provisions, with monitored photo eyes or sensing edges as the design requires. A vehicle-detection loop is not a substitute for entrapment protection. Pedestrian access should be separate from an automated vehicle gate.
We also assess existing driveway gates for automation or repairs. A sagging frame, moving post or mismatched hinge needs attention before adding an opener. Send photos and tell us how the gate is used so we can plan an on-site review in Hanover or the surrounding York and Adams County area.

- Yes. D2K plans and installs automatic driveway gates in Hanover and surrounding York and Adams County communities. Request a site visit to review the opening, slope, power and access needs.
- Can you automate my existing gate?
- Often, but the frame, hinges, posts and layout must be suitable. We inspect them and identify any necessary corrections before recommending an operator.
- Is a swing or sliding gate better?
- Swing gates require a clear travel area and compatible driveway slope. Sliding gates need space beside the opening for the gate to retract. The site and use determine which is suitable.
- What affects the price of an automatic gate?
- Opening width, gate material and weight, foundation requirements, operator, power access, selected controls and safety devices all affect the price. We quote the complete scope after a site review.

“Brandon and his crew installed a new deck and fence at our house - a long overdue project! We are thrilled with both. His team is professional, friendly, and they work extremely hard. The bid was right in the ballpark of what we expected, the work was completed in a timely manner, and they were very good about cleaning up the work site when the jobs were finished. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone seeking deck, fencing, and rail services.”
