Paver Patios & Walkways project completed by D2K Fence & Landscape

Hardscaping

Paver Patios & Walkways

Paver patios, walkways, steps and fire pits built on a compacted base so they stay flat, tight and level for decades.

How we build it

Paver Patios done right

A paver patio only looks as good as the base under it. We excavate to the depth the design calls for, install and compact clean stone in lifts, screed the bedding course, then set pavers with tight joints, a cut border and mechanical edge restraint. Polymeric sand locks the joints so weeds and ants have nowhere to go. That base work is why our patios still sit flat after years of freeze and thaw.

Layout matters just as much. We plan patios around door swings, downspouts, grill space, seating and the way water needs to leave the property. Slope is designed in, not hoped for. If drainage needs help we add a channel drain or a discreet outlet so the patio never becomes the low spot in the yard.

Patios rarely stand alone. Seat walls, pillars, steps, fire pits and lighting turn a slab of pavers into a space people actually stay in, and matching walkways connect the driveway, front door and back yard. Because D2K also installs fence and landscaping, the finished space includes the privacy and planting that frame it.

Common questions

Paver Patios FAQ

How thick is your base?
It depends on soil and use, but a typical residential patio gets six inches of compacted clean stone plus a one-inch bedding course.
Will the pavers settle?
Properly compacted base, edge restraint and polymeric sand are what prevent settling. Skipping any of the three is why patios fail.
Can you match an existing patio?
Often yes. Send us a photo and we will identify the paver family and closest current color.

"Brandon and his crew installed a new deck and fence at our house - a long overdue project! We are thrilled with both. His team is professional, friendly, and they work extremely hard. The bid was right in the ballpark of what we expected, the work was completed in a timely manner, and they were very good about cleaning up the work site when the jobs were finished. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone seeking deck, fencing, and rail services."

"We recently had a vinyl fence and patio installed, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The crew was professional, hardworking, and paid attention to every detail. The fence looks amazing, feels solid, and completely transformed the look of our yard. The patio turned out even better than we imagined — clean, level, and beautifully finished."

"Brandon is fantastic. He did all the leg work and kept us updated prior to and during our project. Brandon got the ball rolling with his crew and got our fence installed as anticipated. We're extremely happy with the turnout, the quality and craftsmanship Brandon and his crew provided. We highly recommend D2K and our pups do too!!"
