Concrete

Concrete Patios, Pads & Sidewalks

Broom-finished concrete patios, sidewalks, stoops and shed pads poured on a compacted base with control joints placed properly.

How we build it

Concrete done right

Concrete is the most cost-effective way to add durable outdoor surface, and it lasts when the prep is right. We form to the finished grade, compact a stone base, add wire or fiber reinforcement as the pour calls for, and place control joints where the slab wants to move. That is what keeps random cracking out of a patio or sidewalk.

We pour patios, front and side sidewalks, stoops with steps, garage aprons, shed and hot tub pads, and dumpster pads for commercial clients. The standard finish is a light broom for traction, and we can add a saw-cut pattern or an exposed edge detail where the look calls for it.

Every pour is graded away from the house so water leaves the slab instead of pooling at the foundation. On shed and hot tub pads we confirm the equipment footprint and access route first, so the pad is right the first time and the delivery goes smoothly.

Common questions

Concrete FAQ

When can I use a new slab?
Foot traffic is usually fine after 24 to 48 hours. Wait a week before vehicles or heavy equipment.
Will it crack?
Concrete moves, which is why we place control joints. Correct joints keep movement in straight, planned lines.
Concrete or pavers?
Concrete costs less per square foot; pavers offer more design options and are easier to repair in one spot.

"Brandon and his crew installed a new deck and fence at our house - a long overdue project! We are thrilled with both. His team is professional, friendly, and they work extremely hard. The bid was right in the ballpark of what we expected, the work was completed in a timely manner, and they were very good about cleaning up the work site when the jobs were finished. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone seeking deck, fencing, and rail services."

"We recently had a vinyl fence and patio installed, and the entire experience was outstanding from start to finish. The crew was professional, hardworking, and paid attention to every detail. The fence looks amazing, feels solid, and completely transformed the look of our yard. The patio turned out even better than we imagined — clean, level, and beautifully finished."

"Brandon is fantastic. He did all the leg work and kept us updated prior to and during our project. Brandon got the ball rolling with his crew and got our fence installed as anticipated. We're extremely happy with the turnout, the quality and craftsmanship Brandon and his crew provided. We highly recommend D2K and our pups do too!!"
