What kind of warranty does D2K Fence & Landscape offer on fence and outdoor projects?
Every D2K installation carries a one-year D2K workmanship warranty covering how the job was built, on top of the manufacturer's material warranty that comes with the product — commonly limited lifetime coverage on vinyl and on aluminum powder-coat finishes. The coverage is written into your contract before you sign, so you are not relying on a website page.
The two layers, plainly
- D2K workmanship — one year: Our installation: posts set plumb and in line, panel and rail attachment, fasteners, gate operation, deck framing and attachment, and hardscape base and paver setting. If we built it wrong, we come back and correct it at no charge.
- Manufacturer material — per product: The product itself: vinyl against cracking, peeling and excessive discoloration; aluminum finish against chipping, blistering and rust-through; chain link against rust-through; PVC and composite decking under the manufacturer's structural and stain/fade terms. We handle the manufacturer paperwork with you.
What is not covered is just as important: storm, flood, vehicle impact and falling limbs; damage caused by third parties including mowers and trimmers; normal weathering, seasonal ground movement and frost heave; work modified or repaired by someone other than D2K; grade or drainage changes made after we install; and animal damage, including no-dig installations dug up by pets. Gate hardware in particular gets adjusted and cycled before we leave, and we will re-adjust a gate under the workmanship warranty rather than treat it as wear.

What the workmanship warranty covers
Covered for one year
- Post plumb, alignment and set integrity on dig-and-set installations
- Panel and rail attachment, fastener failure and hardware installation
- Gate operation — sagging, latch alignment, hinge adjustment
- Workmanship defects in deck framing, decking attachment and railing installation
- Hardscape base preparation and paver setting on patios and walkways we build
Not covered
- Storm, flood, vehicle impact, falling limbs and other acts of nature
- Damage from third parties, including neighbors, contractors, mowers and trimmers
- Normal weathering, fading, seasonal ground movement and frost heave
- Fence modified, relocated, painted or repaired by someone other than D2K
- Grade or drainage changes made after installation
- Animal damage, and no-dig installations disturbed by digging pets
Material coverage
Manufacturer warranties by material
Material warranties are issued by the manufacturer, not by D2K. We register your product information at completion and help you file if you ever need it.
Vinyl
Most vinyl systems we install carry a limited lifetime manufacturer warranty against cracking, peeling and excessive discoloration.
Aluminum
Powder-coated aluminum typically carries a limited lifetime finish warranty against chipping, blistering and rust-through.
Chain link
Galvanized and vinyl-coated fabric and framework are covered per the manufacturer's published terms against rust-through.
Decking & railing
PVC and composite decking carry manufacturer structural and stain/fade warranties — typically 25 years or more.
