A deposit is collected when you sign, and it secures both your material order and your place on the production schedule; the balance is due at completion. Cancellations after material has been ordered are subject to a 50% restocking fee, because special-order fence material is not returnable at full value.

Do I need a property survey before installing a fence?

Not always, but you do need to know where your line is — D2K is not a surveyor and installs to the boundary you identify. We typically set fence 3 to 6 inches inside the line you point out. If the boundary is uncertain, disputed, or if a neighbor's structure or driveway sits close to it, a survey before installation is the only way to protect yourself.

How are underground utilities handled?

Every dig-and-set project gets a PA One Call (811) ticket before we break ground, and we wait out the required notice period so public utilities can mark their lines. Private lines are not covered by 811 — irrigation, invisible pet fence, low-voltage lighting, propane runs and private septic laterals are the homeowner's to point out, and we ask you to flag them before installation day.

Storm, flood and vehicle damage, third-party damage from mowers and trimmers, normal weathering and frost heave, work altered by someone else, post-installation grade changes and animal damage are not covered. The coverage is written into your contract before you sign.

Can D2K repair a storm-damaged fence, and will insurance cover it?

Yes — storm damage is one of our most common repairs, from a snapped post to a section a limb took out. Whether insurance pays depends on your policy and deductible, not on us; many homeowner policies do cover storm and vehicle-impact damage to fencing, so call your carrier about your deductible first. Photograph the damage before any cleanup, secure any opening that leaves a pool or pet unsecured, and send us the photos — we usually can tell from pictures whether your existing fence can be matched. We provide an itemized, photo-documented repair quote in the format adjusters ask for; we do not file claims for you or inflate a quote to fit a deductible.
