A pool fence is the one fence on your property that an inspector will measure. Barrier height, the gap under the bottom rail, the vertical spacing between pickets, and the height and position of the gate latch are all specified, and a fence that misses any one of them fails — usually after the pool is already full. We build to the barrier requirements your municipality enforces and confirm them with the code official before the material is ordered, not after.
Ornamental aluminum is the most common choice for pool enclosures here, and for good reason. It racks with sloped ground so the bottom rail stays tight to grade without stepping, the powder-coated finish shrugs off chlorine and splash-out, the narrow picket profile keeps sight lines to the water open, and pool-code panel configurations with no climbable horizontal rail are a standard order rather than a custom fabrication. Vinyl privacy is the alternative when the priority is screening the pool from neighbors instead of watching it from the patio.
Gates get the most attention because gates are what fail. Every pool gate we hang swings outward, away from the pool, on hardware rated for its weight, with a self-closing hinge and a self-latching magnetic latch mounted at the code-required height on the pool side. We adjust the closing speed on site and cycle every gate before we leave. If you have an existing pool enclosure that is missing compliant hardware, that is a repair call we prioritize — an open pool barrier is a safety issue, not a cosmetic one.
